about
KUNTARI's Larynx explores the sounds of animal mating calls and fuses it further into amalgams of ancient rhythms of Banyuwangi's Hadrah Kuntulan and the Balinese-Chinese Sar Ping/Barongsai (lion dance). While the album itself felt more stripped-down compared to KUNTARI's previous studio album Last Boy Picked (2021), it felt heavier and primordial in its truest sense.
